What You Should Know About Acupuncture
Have you never had an acupuncture treatment and wonder if it works even if you don’t believe in it? Someone asked me this recently, and it made me laugh. Yes, acupuncture works even if you’re skeptical. Often, you will notice immediate effects.
Scientific Evidence
There is increasing scientific evidence supporting the effectiveness of acupuncture. It is successfully applied in the treatment of sports injuries, back pain, and insomnia, as well as anxiety, depression, migraines, joint problems, and infertility. Recent studies in Germany and Australia, for example, show that the chance of a successful fertilization in an IVF procedure is 50% higher when acupuncture is applied beforehand, compared to a group that did not receive acupuncture.
The documentary above provides insight into the applications of acupuncture, with a clear explanation of its effectiveness and scientific support.
Is It More Expensive Than a Doctor or Hospital Treatment?
Modern healthcare, including acupuncture, focuses on prevention, natural support, and lifestyle advice. Acupuncture helps to balance the body and mind and boosts your resistance. What investment are you willing to make to be healthy in body and mind? You will immediately experience what a treatment does for you: more peace of mind, less pain, better sleep, and a reduction in complaints. The effect of acupuncture is often immediately noticeable.
An acupuncture session lasts about 60 minutes and costs €75. Health insurance often reimburses part of this amount, and this reimbursement does not affect your deductible. The number of treatments varies, but on average, five to six sessions are needed. I can explain clearly what you can expect. You do not need a referral from your doctor for an acupuncture treatment.
Moreover, acupuncture does not interfere with your current treatment plan. For instance, during cancer treatment, the negative side effects of chemotherapy or radiation, such as fatigue, headaches, and weakened digestion, can be alleviated by acupuncture.
Afraid of Needles?
Many people have a phobia of needles and might think acupuncture is painful. But an acupuncture treatment is not painful. In my practice, I have treated many people who are afraid of needles. I am very careful and tailor the treatment to the client to make it as stress-free as possible.
The needles used are not like the needles used for injections or blood draws. Acupuncture needles are very thin. Inserting the needles is not painful, and every client in my practice can confirm that the ultimate effect is very relaxing.
An Acupuncturist Sees the Whole Person
When treating a complaint, I look at the whole person. This holistic approach means that I not only look at the complaint but also search for the pattern and the cause. This means that a treatment can be applied to your entire being: physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Still Hesitant?
If you have never had an acupuncture treatment, it may seem mysterious, exciting, or even painful. But nothing could be further from the truth. Make sure you get the support you deserve. Schedule your first appointment in my practice; I am happy to help. Together, we can restore the balance in your body naturally.
