May Update

Several times a year, Susan and I offer the retreat together, and sometimes we travel for it. At the beginning of May we were back in China again, for the third time, and we are always received there with such warmth. Participants from Asia often tell us that the retreat resonates deeply with them. In the retreat we do not only journey back to the young child parts within ourselves, we also connect with the stories, known and unknown, and the strength of our ancestors.
Here in the West we tend to look forward, toward our children. In the East there is an understanding that, in order to heal ourselves, we must also connect with the suffering of our ancestors. That’s exactly what we touch upon towards the end of our retreat.

To me the publication of Susan’s book feels like a kind of milestone. I notice that I have grown as a teacher. That I teach differently now, through storytelling, and that sharing stories has become more natural to me. I also notice that the language of the meditations I offer is changing. And that an integration is taking place between the work in the acupuncture studio, my own meditations and what we touch upon in the retreat. I see it as a field in which we move together. As a guide, I prepare that field for the people I meet; what then arises was already present, like a seed, in the silence.

Acupuncture Clinic – closed to new patients

When I was in China the acupuncture clinic was closed. That is why the agenda now is fully booked. I am unable to accept new patients.
Only if you have visited the clinic before, you can book an appointment through the booking form or send me a message via WhatsApp or Signal.

Parenting Ourselves Book

Susan’s book was published in the Netherlands just as we arrived in China. Shortly before the retreat began, I received the very first copy. Over the past years I have seen this book take shape during the retreats we offered together. If you would like to understand better what we explore during the retreat, this book can help you deepen that inquiry within yourself. It can be ordered here (only in Dutch for now!).

Our Retreat in China

For the third time we taught the retreat in China, this time in Guangzhou. It was a large group with participants from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Together we worked hard, and the beautiful journey we made afterward to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park was a welcome reward. Susan and I spent four days walking in and around this stunning green canyon landscape. It is said that these mountains served as inspiration for the Avatar films. I am sharing a few photographs from our trip below.
